1st Day: Initially we depart from Athens and we drive until we reach the Corinth Canal, with its breathtaking view, (short stop). Then continue along the coastal road we reach to Epidaurus. The ancient theater of Epidaurus is well preserved and is marveled for its exceptional acoustics in that it permits almost perfect intelligibility of unamplified spoken word from the scene to all 14000 spectators, regardless of their seating. Then depart to Nafplio, 1st capital of Greece in 1829(short stop). Drive to Mycenae, the kingdom of mythical Agamemnon. Mycenae is the richest palatial center of the Bronze Age in Greece, its name was given to one of the greatest civilizations, the Mycenaean civilization. In the afternoon depart for Olympia. Dinner and overnight in Olympia.(D)
2nd Day: Olympia became the most important religious and athletic center in Greece because of the Olympic games, the greatest national festival, which was held every four years to honor Zeus. Visit the archaeological site and the museum, then continue driving, passing across the channel to Antirrion the new suspended bridge and arrive in Nafpaktos before continuing to Delphi. Finally dinner and overnight in Delphi.(B.D.)
3rd Day: At the foot of mount Parnassos lies the sanctuary of Delphi, which had the most famous oracle of ancient Greece. Delphi was for centuries the cultural and religious center and symbol of unity for the Hellenic world. The second most important games, the Pythian Games were held here in Delphi every four years. Visit the archaeological site and thee museum, where one can admire the unique bronze statue of “the Charioteer”. After visits, 2 hours at leisure then start drive back to Athens.
